Can I turn off automatic renewal for a domain?

The EUReg system automatically generates a renewal proforma invoice 30 days before a domain expires (see What happens next year?), but generating this invoice doesn't mean payment happens automatically — you still need to pay it manually.

If you want to avoid the renewal invoice being generated altogether for a domain you've decided not to renew, you can turn off automatic renewal from the domain's details in your EUReg customer account. This means:

  • you will no longer receive proforma invoices for that domain;
  • the domain will enter quarantine on its expiration date, following the usual rules.

You can turn automatic invoice generation back on at any time if you change your mind, as long as the domain hasn't already been permanently deleted.
