What is an SPF record and why do I need one?

SPF (Sender Policy Framework) is a TXT-type DNS record that lists which servers are allowed to send email on behalf of your domain. The recipient's email server checks this list when a message arrives; if the message comes from a server that isn't listed in the SPF record, it's more likely to be marked as spam or rejected outright.

Without a correct SPF record, anyone can send email "as if" it came from your address (office@yourdomain.ro), which makes phishing easier and lowers your domain's credibility with spam filters.

If you use EUReg's or mail.ro's email service, a suitable SPF record is configured automatically. If you send email through another provider (e.g. Google Workspace, a CRM, or a newsletter system), you need to manually add that provider's servers to your domain's SPF record, in the DNS zone.
