Watch out for fake domain renewal invoices
Domain holders are sometimes targeted by emails or letters that mimic a renewal invoice, but come from unauthorized companies, asking for amounts far higher than the normal rate or requesting payment to a bank account unrelated to your agent.
A few warning signs:
- the sender isn't
eureg.ro, but a similar-looking or completely different domain; - the amount requested is significantly higher than what's shown in your EUReg customer account;
- the document pressures you to pay urgently, "or you'll lose your domain", using an alarmist tone;
- the bank account listed differs from EUReg's official payment details (see How can I pay my invoice?).
The only valid invoices for renewing a domain registered through EUReg are the ones automatically generated in your EUReg customer account, available in the Invoices section. If you receive a suspicious document, don't make any payment and contact us for verification before acting on it.
