The authorization code is incorrect or expired – what can I do?
If you get an error about an incorrect or expired authorization code when starting a transfer:
- check that you copied the code exactly, with no extra spaces at the start or end — codes are usually case-sensitive;
- request a new code from the domain's current registrar (for
.rodomains, the transfer key is obtained exclusively from the RoTLD portal, not from the current agent); - make sure the domain doesn't have an active transfer lock at the current registrar — a valid code won't help if the lock is still on;
- if you requested the code recently, keep in mind some registries enforce a short waiting period before a new code becomes active.
If the problem persists, contact us through the EUReg support section — we can check the status of the transfer request and point you to the exact step that's blocking the process.
